Pepper x scoville11/22/2023 ![]() But that’s, of course, still incredibly spicy. The Carolina Reaper is, in comparison, a relatively sedate 1.8 million SHU. The other parent plant is the Carolina Reaper. ![]() WATCH HOT ONES EPISODES WITH DILLON FRANCIS, DJ SNAKE & MARTIN GARRIX HEREĬheck out the video below that explains it all. The Apollo pepper’s heat has been reported to measure up to 3.18 million Scoville heat units (SHU), the same as one of its parent plants: Pepper X. Ed Currie submitted it as the hottest at 3,180,000 Scoville Heat Units, but the Guinness World Records is yet to confirm it as such as of 2022. Scoville units measure capsaicin, the chemical that triggers spicy sensation. Unofficially the worlds hottest pepper since its 2007 release by Ed Currie, Pepper X exceeds 3 million SHUs as pepperheads eagerly await seed availability. From my personal experience, I’d say that 2.5 million to 3.2 million Scoville units is a reasonable approximation. And right now, the only place you can find this pepper is in the Hot Ones “The Last Dab” hot sauce. Pepper X clocked in at a whopping 3.18 million Scoville heat units and has been developed over 10 years. The Apollo pepper’s Scoville heat rating has never been officially disclosed, but that hasn’t stopped people from trying to guess The Apollo pepper is estimated to range between 2.5 to over 3.2 million Scoville Heat Units. Pepper X, which has been in the works for nearly 10 years, eclipsed the Dragon’s Breath chili with a staggering 3.18 million Scoville heat units. This is a maddening level of heat, yet like the Dragon’s Breath it has not been verified by the Guinness Book of World Records. Heat levels are measured by the number of dilutions it would take to completely eliminate the heat from a pepper.) Pepper X is said to be double the heat (yes, double) of the Reaper and a hefty 700,000 Scoville heat units above even the Dragon’s Breath. (A Scoville heat unit is equivalent to one dilution of a chili pepper in water. Its founder, Ed Curry, claims it has registered as high as 3.18 million Scoville heat units. Just a few months ago, a Welsh chili grower invented the Dragon’s Breath chili, and broke the previous record for hottest pepper with 2.48 million Scoville heat units. Little is known about this Chilli except that it is claimed to be the most pungent ever known to man. While the show makes a point of featuring a variety of sauces, including their own brand, they’ve gone above and beyond the call of duty with their latest creation, “ The Last Dab.” This hot sauce is probably the most insane thing you will ever eat in your life, as it contains the officially ranked hottest pepper in the world, dubbed “ Pepper X.” We’re HUGE fans of the YouTube series Hot Ones from First We Feast here at Your EDM, so forgive us if we talk a little bit about something near and dear to our hearts: hot sauce. ![]()
